Shawinigan Amphitheatre

Construction of a new 4,000-seat amphitheatre with corporate boxes and an Olympic-size rink. The tiers of prefabricated concrete include a radiant heat system that distributes the heat recovered in the ice-making process using an ammonia-based system unique in its kind. The whole design was done with special care, with regard to the foundations, the improvements and the exterior, which needed to be light enough given the load-bearing weakness of the ground. As the home of the Shawinigan Cataractes (professional junior Quebec hockey league) and host to several competitions and shows, the amphitheatre plays an important role in promoting the region's sports and culture.
